RESUMEN

El reinado de los Reyes Católicos fue una época en que tuvo lugar un importante incremento del concepto de España, aunque con distintos significados. Este artículo estudia los usos más relevantes de este concepto, en los que destaca el geográfico, el histórico, el político, el eclesiástico y el etnográfico. Entre las principales conclusiones puede destacarse la nueva dimensión política que irá tomando el concepto de España en aquel contexto.

ABSTRACT

The reign of the Catholics Kings was an epoch in which there took place an important increase of the concept of Spain, though with different meanings. This article studies the more relevant uses of this concept, since they were the geographical one, the historical one, the politician, the ecclesiastic and the ethnographic one. Among the principal conclusions one can emphasize the new political dimension that is taking the concept of Spain.
