RESUMEN

Este articulo ofrece una sintetica estrategia metodologica por el studio de los paisajes rurales, en conjunto a una breve sintesis historiografica. Además introduce unas analisis detalladas sobre el centro-norte de Italia en la primera Edad Media: una comparacion de diferentes sistemas de asentamiento; las formas del paisaje rural; la “curtis”.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to offer a methodological approach to the investigation of rural landscapes, in relation to a brief historiographic summary. It also presents some in-depth analysis on North-Central Italy in the Early Middle Ages: a comparison between different settlement systems; the different shapes of the rural landscape; the “curtis”.
