RESUMEN

Al hilo de nuestro actual proyecto de investigación: Familia, identidad social, transmisión hereditaria y cultura material... reivindicamos el protagonismo de las apariencias heredadas y/o las nuevas adquisiciones como forma de identificación pública (de género, estado civil, edad o "urbanidad"), y atendiendo a los procesos de movilidad social, para tratar de verificar la transición de la familia española articulada en torno al linaje a otra de tipo conyugal y donde cada vez primase más el individualismo. En ese sentido, el anónimo "Proyecto sobre un Traje Nacional" (1788) buscaba el provecho de la imagen pública de una cortesana suficientemente bien ataviada, incidiendo en el ahorro familiar sin pérdida de la jeraraquía estamental a la vez que evitaba el contagio de las modas extranjeras.

ABSTRACT

In line with our research project: Family, social identity, hereditary transmission and material culture..., we claim the role of inherited appearances or new acquisitions as a way of identifying public (gender, marital status, age or "urbanity"), according to the processes of social mobility, to tray to make sure the transition from Spanish family structured around the lineage to conjugal type and where the individualism was increasingly more important. In that sense, the anonymous "Project of a National Costume" (1788) was looking for the benefit of the public image of a courtesan sufficiently well dressed, influencing household saving without loss of the status hierarchy while avoiding the spread of foreign fashions.
