RESUMEN

Este artículo se vertebra en torno a una serie de variables que guardan relación con aspectos como las memorias divididas en Europa entre el Oeste y Este tras la caída del Muro de Berlín y el derrumbe del bloque soviético. Con ese fin se incide en la memoria oficial en los países socialistas hasta 1989 y las repercusiones que tuvo el final de los sistemas políticos comunistas en el campo de la memoria, con la reinterpretación general del pasado y el impulso a la construcción de nuevas identidades colectivas. En ese sentido se exponen las políticas de la memoria seguidas en Europa Oriental tras esos hechos y cómo afectó a su sociedad, con la construcción de nuevos mitos y símbolos.

ABSTRACT

This article has been structured around a series of variables related to issues such as the collective memory divide between West and East Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet bloc. With that purpose, we analyze the socialist countries’ official memory until 1989 and the repercussions of the end of communist political systems in the field of memory together with past reinterpretations and the impulse to the construction of new collective identities. In this sense, the politics of memory, followed in Eastern Europe after these events and how they affected their society by the construction of mythology and symbology, are exposed.
