RESUMEN

El siguiente artículo pretende analizar el discurso de la Iglesia católica con respecto a la condena del lujo y la moda; prestando especial interés al papel de la mujer y al intento de la Iglesia por conseguir el control de la misma a través de su discurso. Para ello, se utilizarán algunos periódicos murcianos entre finales del siglo XVIII y los inicios del siglo XX, tratando de analizar la persistencia del discurso.

ABSTRACT

The following article analyzes the discourse of the Catholic Church regarding the condemnation of luxury and fashion, paying particular attention to the role of women and the Church's attempt to gain control of it thruogh his speech. To do this, use some newspapers of the city of Murcia during the late eighteenth and early twentieth century, trying to analyze the persitence of speech.
